The Golden Bus
On a serene October morning
She awaited the “Bus of Gold,”
That would take her through the ‘Pearly Gates’
To join the Shepherd’s fold.
In a moments time the ‘Golden Bus’
Appeared from a silver cloud.
When the door stood wide, the driver said,
“My lamb, you’ve made me proud!
You stood your ground and wouldn’t yield
While others chose to bend.
You showed the world that this was wrong…..
And brought it to an end.”
She saw that his hands and feet bore scars
As he welcomed her to board.
She softly smiled, then stepped inside
And stood before the Lord.
He praised her for the legacy
Her courageous deed had brought.
Said, “You’ll forever be remembered,
For the brave fight that you fought.
Welcome to paradise, Rosa Louise Parks.”
